Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on the earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law, and the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.
The Father in heaven, sent Jesus Christ to the Earth in order to restore true biblical teachings and the ways of God. The Israelites. Gods’ chosen people, had for the most part of their long history, openly rejected His laws and commandments. In order to save mankind from its sins, the Father required a perfect sacrifice, Jesus Christ. Now, when Jesus and His Apostles began preaching and teaching the good news from heaven, many of people, just as today, scoffed in disbelief. It was easier and more convenient to continue in the old, sinful ways, rather than repent and turn to God. True christianity, if practiced according to the Bible, requires study, dedication, faith and sacrifice; it is certainly not always easy or convenient. Anyway, within a household or small group of people, some would hear and receive the gospel message, while others would turn away and stop their ears to the truth. This is the type of division that Jesus warned us about in this short passage of scripture.
Do you attend a church that teaches true biblical teachings? Are you diligently studying and praying for guidance? Have you followed up every sermon by checking out what was said, and that it is actually in the Bible? No? Well you should. Because if you do, like me you will discover that the churches are not, in most cases, teaching all of the truth. This is critically important, because God will not be mocked, nor overlook it when we take His name and His word in vain. Do not be deceived. Carefully study the story of Noah in the 6th chapter of Genesis. How many people alive at that time believed and followed God? Exactly (8) people – 8!! Noah and his wife, their sons, and their wives. What happened to everybody else? Listen very carefully – God destroyed them in the Great Flood because they refused to rend their hearts and hearken unto His voice. It is a somber warning to us all, that a greater level of destruction lies ahead in the near future. I have told you the truth – what will you do?
In His service,
