Godly communications

A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger. The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness. The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good. A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.”

Verse Reference: Proverbs 15:1-4

  1. “…the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.” There is something useful here in the exhortation to terseness; to ‘use knowledge right’ here means to give counsel seldom and with restraint. Those who think, regardless of their beliefs, that there is nothing to be found in the Bible that is useful for contemporary life, miss out on exactly this sort of thing. And they tend to run off at the mouth, and offer terrible advice.
