Charismatic – Pentecostal Deception

To the brothers and sisters in Charismatic – Pentecostal churches, this post was written out of love and concern, and I pray you will receive the message in the spirit it was intended. In no way is this message specifically one of condemnation or judgment, but rather of warning and love, although I refuse to water down or soften the GOSPEL TRUTH, as there will be no political correctness allowance or excuses on Judgment Day.

If what I say offends you, the reason for offence is not with me, but rather your rebellion against a Holy God; go take it up with Him. I am concerned for you and know God’s judgment will be swift, sure, and just for those who have rejected the Gospel, twisted it to suit their purposes, or have otherwise preached and taught error in His name.

Be aware of what the Gospel really says.
Be conscious of what is does not say.
Be encouraged because of what Jesus has done.
Be very afraid if you believe a lie and/or have taught evil as good.

You know the truth.
You know better than to trust the words of men.
You know the praises of men are but for a season.
You know now.
You will know then.
You have been thoroughly warned.

Luke 1:11-12, ESV [Holy Spirit to teach]And when they bring you before the synagogues and the rulers and the authorities, do not be anxious about how you should defend yourself or what you should say, for the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.

John 14:23-28, ESV [Holy Spirit to come after Jesus ascended] – Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. Whoever does not love me does not keep my words. And the word that you hear is not mine but the Father’s who sent me.”

These things I have spoken to you while I am still with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. You heard me say to you, I am going away, and I will come to you.’ If you loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I.”

John 20:19-23, ESV [1] On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, the doors being locked where the disciples were for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.” When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord. Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.” And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you withhold forgiveness from any, it is withheld.”

Luke 24:36-49, ESV [2] – As they were talking about these things, Jesus himself stood among them, and said to them, “Peace to you!” But they were startled and frightened and thought they saw a spirit. And he said to them, “Why are you troubled, and why do doubts arise in your hearts? See my hands and my feet, that it is I myself. Touch me, and see. For a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have.” And when he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet. And while they still disbelieved for joy and were marveling, he said to them, “Have you anything here to eat?” They gave him a piece of broiled fish, and he took it and ate before them.

Then he said to them, “These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.” Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, and said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, and that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things. And behold, I am sending the promise of my Father upon you. But stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.”

[1] [2]
– These parallel passages give us an account of the gathering with Jesus and His disciples after His resurrection. Taking together, we are able to discern the proper interpretation, wherein Jesus promises they will receive the Holy Spirit in the near future, a promise fulfilled on Pentecost. Clearly, the Holy Spirit was not to be given until Pentecost.

Acts 2:1-13, ESV – When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men from every nation under heaven. And at this sound the multitude came together, and they were bewildered, because each one was hearing them speak in his own language. And they were amazed and astonished, saying, “Are not all these who are speaking Galileans? And how is it that we hear, each of us in his own native language? Parthians and Medes and Elamites and residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya belonging to Cyrene, and visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabians—we hear them telling in our own tongues the mighty works of God.” And all were amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, “What does this mean?” But others mocking said, “They are filled with new wine.”

Who received the Holy Spirit on Pentecost? The Disciples.

In what language did the crowd hear them speak? Their own native language – NOT gibberish, not vain repetitions, not mysterious words, no, they heard the Gospel in the language of their country so THEY COULD UNDERSTAND AND REPENT!

The interpretation of the charismatic/pentecostal folks about tongues being a special revelation, or heavenly language, is total, complete, and utter nonsense; please do not be deceived. The events at Pentecost cannot be repeated, this was a unique, special, one – time only event.

Acts 2:14-35, ESV – But Peter, standing with the eleven, lifted up his voice and addressed them:“Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and give ear to my words. For these people are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day. But this is what was uttered through the prophet Joel:
“‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares,
that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh,
and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
and your young men shall see visions,
and your old men shall dream dreams;
even on my male servants and female servants
in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy.
And I will show wonders in the heavens above
and signs on the earth below,
blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke;
the sun shall be turned to darkness
and the moon to blood,
before the day of the Lord comes, the great and magnificent day.
And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. ’

“Men of Israel, hear these words:Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God with mighty works and wonders and signs that God did through him in your midst, as you yourselves know— this Jesus, delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men. God raised him up, loosing the pangs of death, because it was not possible for him to be held by it. For David says concerning him,

” ‘I saw the Lord always before me,
for he is at my right hand that I may not be shaken;
therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced;
my flesh also will dwell in hope.
For you will not abandon my soul to Hades,
or let your Holy One see corruption.
You have made known to me the paths of life;
you will make me full of gladness with your presence.’

“Brothers, I may say to you with confidence about the patriarch David that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. Being therefore a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that he would set one of his descendants on his throne, he foresaw and spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that he was not abandoned to Hades, nor did his flesh see corruption. This Jesus God raised up, and of that we all are witnesses. Being therefore exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this that you yourselves are seeing and hearing. For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he himself says,

” ‘The Lord said to my Lord,
“Sit at my right hand,
until I make your enemies your footstool.” ‘

In fulfilment of the earlier prophecy by the prophet Joel (2:28), the pouring out of the Holy Spirit was to be a sign to the unbelieving Jews of Jesus Christ being the foretold Messiah.

Acts 2:36-41, ESV – Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.” Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.” And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation.” So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls.

Acts 10:34-48, ESV – So Peter opened his mouth and said: “Truly I understand that God shows no partiality, but in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him. As for the word that he sent to Israel, preaching good news of peace through Jesus Christ (he is Lord of all), you yourselves know what happened throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee after the baptism that John proclaimed: how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power.

He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him. And we are witnesses of all that he did both in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They put him to death by hanging him on a tree, but God raised him on the third day and made him to appear, not to all the people but to us who had been chosen by God as witnesses, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead. And he commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one appointed by God to be judge of the living and the dead. To him all the prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.”

According to Peter, who was able to receive the Holy Spirit? Everyone. How? “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sin, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” The Holy Spirit is available to every believer, the gift of tongues however, is not.

While Peter was still saying these things, the Holy Spirit fell on all who heard the word. And the believers from among the circumcised who had come with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit was poured out even on the Gentiles. For they were hearing them speaking in tongues and extolling God. Then Peter declared, “Can anyone withhold water for baptizing these people, who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?” And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to remain for some days.

About three thousand people responded positively to the Gospel Message that day, repented of their sins, received the Holy Spirit, and was baptized. Some of the gentiles were able to speak in tongues, as a sign to the Jews the Holy Spirit was for them as well. – “For they heard them speaking in other tongues and praising God.” – v46, NLT.

Acts 19:1-9, ESV – And it happened that while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul passed through the inland country and came to Ephesus. There he found some disciples. And he said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” And they said, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.” And he said, “Into what then were you baptized?” They said, “Into John’s baptism.” And Paul said, “John baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in the one who was to come after him, that is, Jesus.”

On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they began speaking in tongues and prophesying. There were about twelve men in all. And he entered the synagogue and for three months spoke boldly, reasoning and persuading them about the kingdom of God. But when some became stubborn and continued in unbelief, speaking evil of the Way before the congregation, he withdrew from them and took the disciples with him, reasoning daily in the hall of Tyrannus.

To whom was Paul preaching? The Gentiles. When did they receive the Holy Spirit? After he baptized and laid their hands on them. Is there any indication gentiles were to pray for the ability to speak in tongues? No.

Ephesians 1:13-14, ESVIn him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.

Ephesians 3:5-6, ESVFor this reason I, Paul, a prisoner for Christ Jesus on behalf of you Gentiles—assuming that you have heard of the stewardship of God’s grace that was given to me for you, how the mystery was made known to me by revelation, as I have written briefly. When you read this, you can perceive my insight into the mystery of Christ, which was not made known to the sons of men in other generations as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit. This mystery is that the Gentiles are fellow heirs, members of the same body, and partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel.

Galatians 3:13-15, ESVChrist redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree”—so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promised Spirit through faith.

1 Corinthians 13:1-3, ESV – If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away.

When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways. For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.
So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

It is fascinating how the charismatic churches teach the speaking in tongues for everyone today, as a sign of true conversion (wrong!), yet completely fail to admit “tongues will cease”. Surely, after some 2000 years since Paul wrote these words, the usefulness of speaking in tongues would have passed long ago, and indeed they have. The ability to speak in tongues, intelligent, earthly, human languages, was needed for a time, but that time has long past, and is no longer required as we have a faithful record of God’s Word to instruct and guide us.

1 Corinthians 14:1-33, ESV– Pursue love, and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy. For one who speaks in a tongue speaks not to men but to God; for no one understands him, but he utters mysteries in the Spirit. On the other hand, the one who prophesies speaks to people for their upbuilding and encouragement and consolation. The one who speaks in a tongue builds up himself, but the one who prophesies builds up the church. Now I want you all to speak in tongues, but even more to prophesy. The one who prophesies is greater than the one who speaks in tongues, unless someone interprets, so that the church may be built up.

Now, brothers, if I come to you speaking in tongues, how will I benefit you unless I bring you some revelation or knowledge or prophecy or teaching? If even lifeless instruments, such as the flute or the harp, do not give distinct notes, how will anyone know what is played? And if the bugle gives an indistinct sound, who will get ready for battle? So with yourselves, if with your tongue you utter speech that is not intelligible, how will anyone know what is said? For you will be speaking into the air. There are doubtless many different languages in the world, and none is without meaning, but if I do not know the meaning of the language, I will be a foreigner to the speaker and the speaker a foreigner to me. So with yourselves, since you are eager for manifestations of the Spirit, strive to excel in building up the church.

Therefore, one who speaks in a tongue should pray that he may interpret. For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays but my mind is unfruitful. What am I to do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will pray with my mind also; I will sing praise with my spirit, but I will sing with my mind also. Otherwise, if you give thanks with your spirit, how can anyone in the position of an outsider say “Amen” to your thanksgiving when he does not know what you are saying? For you may be giving thanks well enough, but the other person is not being built up. I thank God that I speak in tongues more than all of you. Nevertheless, in church I would rather speak five words with my mind in order to instruct others, than ten thousand words in a tongue.

Brothers, do not be children in your thinking. Be infants in evil, but in your thinking be mature. In the Law it is written, “By people of strange tongues and by the lips of foreigners will I speak to this people, and even then they will not listen to me, says the Lord.” Thus tongues are a sign not for believers but for unbelievers, while prophecy is a sign not for unbelievers but for believers. If, therefore, the whole church comes together and all speak in tongues, and outsiders or unbelievers enter, will they not say that you are out of your minds? But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or outsider enters, he is convicted by all, he is called to account by all, the secrets of his heart are disclosed, and so, falling on his face, he will worship God and declare that God is really among you.

What then, brothers? When you come together, each one has a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. Let all things be done for building up. If any speak in a tongue, let there be only two or at most three, and each in turn, and let someone interpret. But if there is no one to interpret, let each of them keep silent in church and speak to himself and to God. Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others weigh what is said. If a revelation is made to another sitting there, let the first be silent. For you can all prophesy one by one, so that all may learn and all be encouraged, and the spirits of prophets are subject to prophets. For God is not a God of confusion but of peace.

Love, not speaking in tongues, miracles, or divine healing is most important. Charismatic churches are confused, they are deceived, and are teaching and exalting what they ought not to. May God have mercy and compassion upon them.

Galatians 5:16-26, ESV – But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

Interesting. No mention to speaking in tongues. No mention of divine healings. No mention of miracles. No mention of an emotional, touchy-feely worship experience. No seeking after any spiritual gifts. No mention of anything the charismatic – pentecostal churches preach is important.

The Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada –

*This is consistent with what I found on other Pentecostal websites

BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT – “The baptism in the Holy Spirit is an experience in which believers yield control of themselves to the Holy Spirit. Through this the believer comes to know Christ in a more intimate way and receives power to witness and grow spiritually. Believers should earnestly seek the baptism in the Holy Spirit according to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ. The initial evidence of the baptism in the Holy Spirit is speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. This experience is distinct from and subsequent to the experience of the new birth.”

There is no scriptural support for a “Baptism of the Holy Spirit” experience. What is meant by “yield control’? Where is this found in Scripture? Specifically, where does the bible to say this is the way to “know Christ in a more intimate way”? Speaking in tongues? I don’t think so. The Apostle Paul stated very clearly the gift of tongues were to cease, and were to be used to edify and strengthen the early church. As has been clearly and amply shown above, the ability to speak in tongues was,

  • speaking in earthly human, known languages
  • a sign to unbelievers
  • intelligible to the hearer(s)
  • given to the disciples, and a small number of gentiles
  • to pass away
  • the least of all spiritual gifts
  • not available to everyone
  • not to be exalted, worshiped, and made a “sign”

The pentecostal understanding and teaching of tongues is flawed, misguided, unscriptural, and demonic. Yep. demonic – (in no way am I suggesting you are worshipping Satan, nevertheless it is not from God). If something is not from God, then who is it from? Does not Satan use his demons to deceive us? Yes. Using vain repetitions, incoherent babbling, child-like jibber jabber is not from God.

It is very sad so many Christians have been seduced by lies, wilfully seeking deception and being deceived.  They falsely declare speaking in tongues is to be earnestly sought after and exalted. The bible says it is the very least of spiritual gifts, was never available to every believer, and was to fade away after its usefulness passed. Are we going to believe God or man? Whom do you serve? Do you know?

THE GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT – “The gifts of the Spirit are supernatural abilities given by God through the exercising of which believers are enabled to minister effectively and directly in particular situations. They serve the dual function of building up the church and of demonstrating the presence of God within His church.”

Ok, here is a list of the spiritual gifts listed in the bible.

  1. Wisdom
  2. Knowledge
  3. Faith
  4. Healings
  5. Miracles
  6. Prophecy
  7. Discernment
  8. Tongues

What do they mean by “supernatural abilities”? To which gift does this apply? In the charismatic – penetcostal world, they mean the gifts of healings, miracles, prophecy, and tongues. Obviously they do not have the gifts of wisdom or discernment, nor are they taught, as it would expose their sin to the light. If you are member or pastor in these churches, how do you answer these verses? By whose authority do you teach the believer has a choice of gifts? How will you answer Almighty God on Judgment Day?

“Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.” – 1 Corinthians 12:4-7, ESV

“For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body – Jews or Greeks, slaves or free – and all were made to drink of one Spirit. For the body does not consist of one member but of many.  If the foot should say, ‘Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body’, that would not make it less a part of the body.” – 1 Corinthians 12:12-15, ESV

Where do these gifts come from? “But it is one and the same Spirit who does all this; as he wishes, he gives a different gift to each person.” – 1 Corinthians 12:11, GNB

Do we get to choose our gifts? No.
Is one gift “better than another? No.
Are we to pray to receive gifts we do not have? No.

Then why, do the charismatic – pentecostals teach this?! Why do they exalt the gifts they deem more important? Is your small toe less important than your thumb? No. Does Scripture place special emphasis on certain gifts? No. Again, then why do these charismatic type churches teach such things? Because they are teaching their own gospel and not the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They are intentionally and willfully deceiving both themselves and their members.

DIVINE HEALING – “Divine healing provided in the atonement of Christ is the privilege of all believers. Prayer for the sick and gifts of healing are encouraged and practised.”

Is the gift of healing exalted in Scripture? No.
Does Scripture says everyone has or can receive the gift of healing? No.
Once again, then why do they teach things which are contrary to Scripture?

If God able to perform divine healing today in any situation? YES, OF COURSE!! But these healings are not given through the efforts of any man, nor are they to satisfy our own natural vanity and arrogance. God may choose to heal any person, at any time and in any situation He chooses. It is all about Him, for His glory, His honour, His worship, His praise, and has absolutely nothing at all to do with us! How many false healings have been done in the Name of God over the centuries? How many con men have preyed upon the sick and helpless for personal gain? Do you think God does not notice? He sure does, and He will have His say of Judgment Day. Friend, do not be deceived, God will not be mocked, nor will He tolerate those who use His name for their own personal gain.

IMPORTANT NOTE – If you are member of a charismatic – pentecostal church I implore you to solemnly and prayerfully heed this warning, for you have been deceived. Are you a pastor or elder in one of the “churches” or “assemblies”? Then stop right now and work out your salvation in fear and trembling before Almighty God, for you are teaching the people lies, and are under a heavy veil of deception. Does this make you angry? Are your feelings hurt? Too bad, deal with it! Would you prefer to have hurt feelings for a time now or suffer eternal damnation in hell? Any church “leader” who knowingly leads their flock astray will pay dearly throughout eternity. Your healing and physco babble mumbo jumbo jabbering is not from God, but of demons. Please, REPENT, REPENT, REPENT, do it NOW!

Understand I am NOT saying everyone in these churches are UNSAVED and destined for hell, for certainly many are generally solid, bible-believing Christians. However, the serious doctrinal errors of the charismatic – pentecostal movement simply cannot be ignored, and are plainly visible for those with “eyes to see and ears to hear”. If you choose to ignore the truth, that is of course your right, but you would be wise to heed this warning rather than ignore it. Your scriptural interpretation and understanding of “tongues” is anti-biblical, heretical, and an outright lie. I pray you will come to grips with this and step out of the dark clouds, and into the radiant light of His truth.

Galatians 1:6-9, ESV – I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.

Matthew 7:15, GNB – Be on your guard against false prophets; they come to you looking like sheep on the outside, but on the inside they are really like wild wolves.

Matthew 7:21-23, GNB – Not everyone who calls me Lord, Lord will enter the Kingdom of heaven, but only those who do what me Father in heaven wants them to do. When Judgment Day comes, many will say to me, Lord, Lord! in your name we spoke God’s message, by your name we spoke God’s message, by your name we drove out many demons and performed many miracles! Then I will say to them, I never knew you. Get away from me, you wicked people!

If you are a charismatic teacher, pastor, or elder, I urge you to hear these words with fear and trembling, prayerfully seeking His forgiveness and healing. Does it sound like Jesus placed high importance on the performing of miracles and casting out demons? No. Why then are you teaching and practicing things you ought not to? Why do you continue day by day to claim you speak for God, use His Name falsely, and preach a false Gospel? Well?

Blessedly, there is hope and forgiveness available through the blood and sacrifice of our LORD JESUS CHRIST. Please, please, come to Him now in humility and repentance, earnestly seeking His forgiveness.
