Are you a friend or enemy?

The New Testament speaks about two kinds of people; those who are saved by the blood of Jesus, and the lost, condemned to hell. Scripture makes no apology for the absence of a middle ground: you are either in (the kingdom of heaven), or you are not. Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”, meaning every human being is a condemned sinner in the eyes of a Holy and perfect God. From the moment of our conception in the womb, each of us is “out”; unworthy to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven. Humans have an inherent, fallen nature, going all the way back to Creation, and the original sin of Adam and Eve. Continuing in Romans 8:5-8, we read, “For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God’s law; indeed, it cannot. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.” ESV. The King James Version translates Verse 7 as, “Because the carnal mind is enmity (lit. ‘enemy’) against God: for it is not subject the law of God, neither indeed can be.” The Apostle James, says, “…whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.” (James 4:4). So there you have it; are you a friend or enemy of Jesus?

Blessings to all,

Government Is NOT in Control

“When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command the locust to devour the land, or send pestilence among my people, if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” – 2 Chronicles 7:13-14

These verses came to my mind, while listening this evening to the election coverage of our American friends to the south. As in Canada, the United States has, by and large, enmasse, willfully chosen to ignore our Creator God, to their peril. Our God will not be mocked; but make no mistake, He will have the final word on all things. Friend, will YOU, personally, respond to God’s calling? Is the time finally at hand for you to turn over everything to Him; it is all His anyway?

In the big picture, no government, social safety program, self-help program; nor anything the mind and will of man has created, will save you. Only the free, saving grace of Jesus Christ, is sufficient to rescue you from the festering evil all around. Over and over, God has promised in His Word to forgive the sin of anyone who repents, and turns fully to His saving grace and forgiveness. Whatever happens the evening, real hope is available; God is willing and able to bring hope, love, and forgiveness to your life, through Jesus Christ.

Blessings,

Does God love me?

Absolutely, YES, God loves YOU! Isn’t it wonderful to know this? Our collective problem is that God does not “love” our sin, which is separate and distinct from Him loving “us”. You may perhaps be familiar with the phrase, “Love the sinner, hate the sin”. It is our sin addiction which keeps us from a personal, intimate, and loving relationship with our Creator. When Jesus Christ willingly sacrificed Himself upon the cross, He took upon His own body the entire sins of all humans, including yours. The Bible is absolutely clear that salvation is the free gift of God, which cannot be earned, it cannot be bought, and is available through no other name but Jesus. While you may feel lonely and unloved, God has already declared His perfect and unfailing love for you, His cherished and most precious creation.

God’s Everlasting Kindness  God’s love is absolute and unending.
“Praise the LORD! Oh give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; For His lovingkindness is everlasting.”  (i)

“Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; For His lovingkindness is everlasting.”  (ii)

“I shall mention of the lovingkindnesses of the LORD, the praises of the LORD, According to all that the LORD has granted us, And the great goodness toward the house of Israel, Which He has granted them according to His compassion, And according to the abundance of His loving kindnesses.”  (iii)

Psalm 106:1 (i)
Psalm 118:1 (ii)
Isaiah 63:7, NASB (iii)

God is Faithful in His Love for Us – Jesus came into the world with the message of free forgiveness (grace).

“If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in truth. But is we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.”  (i)

“God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. This is real love – not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.”  (ii)

“Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has become a child of God. And everyone who loves the Father loves his children, too. We know we love God’s children if we love God and obey his commandments.”  (iii)

“Jesus replied, ‘All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them.”  (iv)

“And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow – not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.”   (v)

1 John 1:8-9  (i)
1 John 4:9-10  (ii)
1 John 5:1-2  (iii)
John 14:3  (iv)
Romans 8:38-28, NLT  (v)

Jesus died to Save Us from Sin You may receive the free gift of eternal life simply by asking Jesus to forgive your sins.

“For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.”  (i)

“The Father loves his Son and has put everything into his hands. And anyone who believed in God’s Son has eternal life. Anyone who doesn’t obey the Son will never experience eternal life but remains under God’s angry judgment.”  (ii)

“For Jesus is the one referred to in the Scriptures, where it says,

The stone that you builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.

There is salvation is no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.”  (iii)

John 3:16-17  (i)
John 3:35-36  (ii)
Acts 4:11-12  (iii)

The Love of God brings Eternal Hope – All earthly hope in our money, health, employment, etc.. will ultimately fail; only the true hope of eternal life through Jesus Christ endures forever.
“All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation, and we have a priceless inheritance – an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, purse and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay.”  (i)

“For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son, who purchases our freedom and forgave our sins.”  (ii)

“Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later. For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who his children really are. Against its will, all creation was subjected to God’s curse. But will eager hope, the creation looks forward to the day when it will join God’s children in glorious freedom from death and decay.

For we know that all creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. And we believers also groan, even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory, for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering. We, too, wait with eager hope for the day when God will give us our full rights as his adopted children, including the new bodies he has promised us. We were given this hope when we were saved. (If we already have something, we don’t need to hope for it. But if we look forward to something we don’t yet have, we must patiently and confidently).  (iii)

“Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory. We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation.”  (iv)

1 Peter 3-4  (i)
Colossians 1:13-14  (ii)
Romans 8:18-25  (iii)
Romans 5:1-4  (iv)

Pray to God for peace, forgiveness and hope. If you are truly sorry for committing sins against Him, and freely and wholeheartedly repent, God’s Word declares He will hear you and extend free forgiveness. If you have Bible, why not pick it up and start reading, what can it hurt? Should you not have a Bible, make it priority to obtain one today, His Word will change your present and future life – guaranteed!

Blessings,

The Good Samaritan

Luke 10:25-37

Verses 25-28 [Thou shalt love the Lord thy God]
“And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou? And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.” The lawyer who was speaking with Jesus, quite clearly knew at least some of the commandments of God, which were confirmed by Jesus as a requirement for eternal life.

Verses 29-31 [Who is my neighbour?]
“But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour? And Jesus
answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.”

Verses 31-35 [He brought him to the inn]
“And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side. But a certain Samaritan, and he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw hm, he had compassion on him, And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.” Both the priest and the levite would certainly have been familiar with God’s commandments, and yet they looked the other way and refused to render compassion and assistance to their neighbour, who being from Samaria, was greatly disliked and shunned by the Jews. Jesus’ message was that every man is to be considered the neighbour of everyone, and we are to show them love, forgiveness, mercy and compassion in abundance.

Verses 36-39
“Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves? And he said, He that showed mercy upon him. Then said Jesus unto him Go, and do thou likewise.” Cutting directly to the heart of man as only Jesus is able, He commanded the lawyer to go and put the laws and commandments of God into practice. The important lesson for all of us to heed, is that simply “knowing” the commandments is not enough, we must live them, hide them in our hearts and apply them every day in our lives.

My prayers are with you all,

A lamp to our feet

Proverbs 6:20-25
“My son, keep thy father’s commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother: Bind them continually upon thine heart, and tie them around thy neck. When thou goest, it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee. For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life: To keep thee from the evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman. Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with eyelids.”

Deuteronomy 6:1-9
“Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD your God commanded to teach you, that ye might to them in the land whither ye go to possess it: That thou mightest fear the LORD thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son’s son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged. Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey.

Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.”

John 14:21
“He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.”

The commandments of God are life unto our souls and meat for our bodies. Jesus said that he did not come to destroy the law, and that His commandments would remain in force while the heavens and earth remain. You may read the bible from Genesis to Revelation, and at no place can you find where His commandments and law have been abolished. In Revelation 14:12 we are presented with the clear link between commandment-keeping and having faith in Jesus, which is in fact woven throughout all scripture. May you keep His commandments secure within your heart, and teach them unto all those whom you love.

Blessings,

T.E.

Earth corrupted before the LORD

“The earth also was corrupt before God; and the earth was filled with violence. And God looked upon the earth, and behold, it was corrupt: for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth. And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth.”

Verse Reference: Genesis 6:11-13

Memory Lesson: Renewal of the earth is forthcoming, and we all need to be ready for His coming.

Why Evolution is a LIE

EVOLUTION vs CREATION

Choice #1: The universe, life, and all creation came to exist by random chance. Evolutionists scorn Christians for having “blind faith” in the Bible and existence of God. Objectively speaking, the evolutionists have a very great problem to deal with as we shall later see. As I understand, the Darwinian Theory of Evolution goes something like this: Long ago in the distant past, a singular event called the Big Bang occurred, bringing into being the universe, galaxies, stars, planets and such. This explosion created all things, distributing elemental matter and energy throughout. Allowing for eons of time, all of the astronomical bodies were created and formed. Continuing to allow for sufficient eons of time, life came into existence. Going forward, all of life’s glorious diversity and beauty, exist solely due to the process of evolution.

What exactly is evolution? What is its driving force? How precisely does it occur? Our children are taught in school that the human species evolved and descended from primates. Assuming this was actually possible, what was the catalyst for change? Why would a fully-evolved primate, or any other creature, perfectly adapted to its environment, undertake a process of evolution and change to improve and grow? Consider that all primates have the ability to mate and reproduce without genetic mutation. This biological capacity must have evolved as well, agreed? They are able to gather food, make a shelter, establish social structure, develop a language, communication skills, and so forth. All of these essential characteristics must by necessity, must also have evolved along with their physical makeup.

Given all this, what caused primates to slowly evolve into humans? Did they prefer to drive automobiles rather than swing from tree to tree? Would they rather play video games than chase sticks? Were they lacking anything? No. No. No! Science has determined that primates have something like 98-99% of our DNA, therefore they say it is a small evolutionary jump for primates to become human. This small genetic difference makes all the difference in the world, for primates are not on the same level as humans, nor did we evolve from them. Considering that God created humans to be part of His family, this small difference of 1-2% is enormous. Yes, all of life became animated and functional from God’s breath, but they were not all provided with His Spirit. This singular difference is the key that unlocks a right and proper understanding of this entire question.

Before moving on, may I ask you a question? Can you create something from nothing? If your answer is no, then the theory of evolution must be a lie, for this is its most basic premise. How about you go and create a wooden table. Can you do that? Great!! Before you begin, I should give you some conditions, namely: We will assume that you do in fact exist. No wood is available because trees do not exist, so you will need to create trees. To make a tree will require elements such as nitrogen, oxygen, carbon, and so on, so you must create them as well. Further, the tree will need soil, water, sunlight and heat, so you must add these to your creation to-do list. Also, you do not have any tools, computers, research facilities and so forth to help you, so they must be created as well. Have a I left anything out?

Let us try another one shall we? I will give you all the parts required to assemble [not create] a car. Yes, all of the parts in a great big pile over there on the floor. Listen, it is almost lunch time and I am a bit hungry, and am going to run out for something to eat. While I am away, take all of the car parts and throw them at one another. That’s right, you have the general idea. Now when I come back, you can show me the lovely car which you have assembled [not created]. What’s that now, you need some tools? I am very sorry, but that would be cheating. You do not want to cheat do you? No, you assemble the car by randomly throwing the parts together. One more thing, there are no instructions or prints to follow, and the thousands of parts only fit together one way. Bye now, see you later, good luck and have fun!

Do you still want to believe in evolution? Can you create a rose? More specifically, can you create a rose from nothing? No. Therefore, the theory of evolution remains at best a quaint curiosity, which in reality in no more than a lie.

Choice #2: There is a sovereign God who has always existed, created all things, and recorded His word for us in the Bible. Yes, this acceptance is an act of faith that God does indeed exist. Those who believe in evolution also have a type of faith, a false faith mind you, but faith none the less. Their faith is this: A long ago big bang event distributed all of the matter and energy throughout the universe, although they cannot explain where the raw materials came from in the first place, or how this process got started. Nor how all things, inanimate and living were created by random chance. Have you finished the table or assembled the car yet? That evolution continues today at an imperceptibly slow pace (by faith), and that humans continue to evolve is simply ridiculous.

One final question they cannot answer is, why? What is the purpose of life? Evolutionists cannot explain this. Philosophy cannot answer this question. God however, has answered this question for us in the Bible. Which will you choose? Either choice requires an act of faith. Will you enter into the light or continue to stumble around in the dark? Will you choose life or death? Make the right choice – please.

GOD BLESS

Blessed be the poor

Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.
Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled.
Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.
Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake.

Luke 6:20-22 (KJV)

Are ye hungry for the word of God? Does your soul thirst for the words of truth? Do ye take the time to drink daily of His cup of life? The word of God is more valuable than fine jewels, more precious than gold, and sweeter than wine. It is our daily food unto salvation and refreshment unto our soul. Like the potter who maketh the clay, in like manner does His word build up, layer upon layer until the new creation is able to stand on its own. Blessings unto all ye who daily place their trust in the word of life and truth. O  how my soul hungers for thy word, how my heart pants after thy commandments. My LORD and King, this world persecutes us, laughing us to scorn, and makes us foolish in their eyes. Their tongues are like arrows of fire, lies and vanity springeth forth from their depths. When your kingdom commeth Father, then shall your saints   rejoice with gladness in our hearts. Ye foolish of this world,  you are empty, broken and utterly destitute, likewise all of us once were before we came unto thee, our God, King and LORD. Persecute us O fallen world, make murmuring behind us, and lay snares before us, it matters not. Our future is set, the script is written and the banquet booked.

The word of our God shall not ye extinguish, nor shall your wickedness prevail. Victory is assured, resting upon the ancient promises. O ye of this world, cast off thy sins and embrace life, otherwise only death and destruction await thee. All ye nations of the earth, hear ye the word of the LORD. A controversy He has with thee, that shall not be diminished. His wrath upon thee will He pour, then shall all nations cry unto heaven for reason of their suffering. They have forsaken thy ways and rended their heart, their ears are closed and hearth not thy voice. Have mercy upon them O LORD, and do not utterly destroy them. Will ye grant them time to repent? Will ye hear the cries of many upon the earth? How much time is still to unfold? When shall the end be, my King and LORD?

This world has a terminal disease which must be purged from all creation before there can be true peace. All of man’s ways are vanity, all is for nought, and there is no good upon this earth. God is not allowing pain, suffering and death to rule upon the earth, rather it is he who is causing it. The hardness of man’s heart, the stubbornness of his ways, and the lusting after evil, has brought his judgment against. From this, the LORD will not turn back. The reign of sin and death must not be allowed to continue forever without end. The enemy is defeated, knowing his days are counted as few and the battle nearly at an end. Listen not to the god of this world, turn away from his seducing lies; believe them not, for they only lead to death. The path to glory is established, and we shall not turn back. There is only one path, only one way, and only one option. Blessings unto you O LORD for the shed blood of your Son Jesus, cleansing us clean of our sins and laying a bridge to salvation. Come. Join us. Kneel at His cross and accept His offer of salvation. Repent of thy sins and lies. Come. The LORD is waiting for you. Come. The truth stands ready to embrace you. Come. The days grow short and time passes by. The day when He calls TIME!, approaches. What will you do upon that day? There is no place to flee, nowhere to hide and none you can call. Except one. Call upon the LORD Jesus now, while you are able.

Many blessings in His name,

Blessings and Cursings

Even among Christian circles, few of us are aware of the underlying cause of death, pain, suffering and a broken-down world. To understand the answer we need only to look no further than our Bibles, and in particular, Deuteronomy 28 and Leviticus 27. Just like us today, the LORD assured Ancient Israel of tremendous blessings for obeying His laws and commandments. More importantly, He guaranteed their destruction if they chose to follow their own ways in disobedience.

This is the reason for all of the hurt, pain and untold suffering in our world. Sadly to say, but even most Christians today do not obey the LORD. Yet there is hope. Individual repentance and a heart-felt admission of our sins before the Almighty God brings forgiveness, and a new start in Jesus Christ. I plead with you all to follow the teachings in the Bible, and to be wary of the teachings of men and religious institutions. Time is short and the night far spent. The end of this present world is near and judgment is coming, guaranteed by the word of the LORD Almighty Himself. May He lead you to the truth that will never end.

God bless all of you,

True Advice

A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver or fine gold. The rich and poor meet together: the LORD is the maker of them all.

A prudent man forseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished. By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, and honour, and life.

Thorns and snares are in the way of the froward: he that doth keep his soul shall be far from them. Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.

Psalm 22:1
