Original Sin

Contained within the pages of Genesis, is the true account of how our world became cursed by sin. It is here we are told Adam and Eve first sinned against Almighty God, and how the fate of all humanity was decided on that day, 6000 years ago. Although the story has a tragic beginning, the ending is simply amazing and wonderful!! God in His unending mercy, sent His Son, Jesus Christ to be sacrificed on the cross for our sin, so we may once again have true and everlasting fellowship with Father and Son.

In The Garden Of Eden

“Now the serpent was more crafty than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, Indeed, has God said, You shall not eat from any tree of the garden? The woman said to the serpent, From the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden, God has said, You shall not eat from it or touch it, or you will die. The serpent said to the woman, You surely will not die! For God knows that in the day you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.

When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was desirable to make one wise, she took from its fruit and ate; and she gave also to her husband with her, and he ate. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loin coverings. They heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden. Then the LORD God called to the man, and said to him, Where are you? He said, I heard the sound of You in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid myself.

And he said, Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you not to eat? The man said, The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me from the tree, and I ate. Then the LORD God said to the woman, What is this you have done? And the woman said, The serpent deceived me, and I ate. The LORD God said to the serpent.

Because you have done this,
Cursed are you more than all cattle,
And more then every beast of the field;
On your belly you will go,
And dust you will eat
All the days of your life;
And I will put enmity
Between you and the woman,
And between your seed and her seed;
He shall bruise you on the head,
And you shall bruise him on the heel.

To the woman He said,
I will greatly multiply
Your pain in childbirth,
In pain you will bring forth children;
Yet your desire will be for your husband,
And he will rule over you.

Then to Adam He said, Because you have listened to the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree about which I commanded you, saying, You shall not eat from it;
Cursed is the ground because of you;
In toil you will eat of it
All the days of your life.
Both thorns and thistles it shall grow for you;
And you will eat the plants of the field;
By the sweat of your face
You will eat bread,
Till you return to the ground,
Because from it you were taken;
For you are dust,
And to dust shall you return.

Now the man called his wife’s name Eve, because she was the mother of all the living. The LORD God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife, and clothed them. Then the LORD God said, Behold, the man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil; and now, he might stretch out his hand, and take also from the tree of life, and eat, and live forever – therefore the LORD God sent him out from the Garden of Eden, to cultivate the ground from which he was taken. So He drove the man out; and at the east of the garden of Eden He stationed the cherubim and the flaming sword which turned every direction to guard the way to the tree of life.”  Genesis 3:1-24, NASB
God’s original plan was for Adam, Eve, and their descendants to live forever together with Him in the Garden of Eden, in a perfect, pristine, sin-free world for eternity. God exists outside of time and space, and knew in advance they would disobey Him when He said, “Then the LORD God took the man and put him into the garden of Eden to cultivate it and keep it. The LORD God commanded the man, saying, From any tree of the garden you may eat freely; but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die.”  Genesis 2:15-17,  NASB.

Did you get that? God said they would die if they ate from the forbidden tree, clearly implying they would live for ever if they obeyed! Well, the “serpent”, who represents Satan the Devil, a fallen angel who rebelled against God, knew God’s plan and decided to get Adam and Eve to disobey, thereby denying them the blessings of fellowship and eternal life God had promised.

BIG IMPORTANT WARNING – The devil, while very smart and crafty, really has a limited bag of tricks to ensare mankind, and uses the same old lies to tempt each of us – BEWARE! By planting doubt in their minds that God had not really meant what He said (GOD SAYS EXACTLY WHAT HE MEANS!), both Adam and Eve (please don’t get me started on who sinned first, it is irrelevant), disobeyed God’s commandment not to eat fruit from the Tree of The Knowledge of Good and Evil. It is at this precise moment in history when sin first entered into the world, caused by the disobedience of Adam and Eve against God. The consequences of their mistake continues to manifest itself today, such as,

Death
Disease
Sickness
Mental disorders
Broken families
Drug and alcohol addictions
Abortion
Murder
And on it goes…

You may not realize there are environmental effects as well,

Extreme cold and heat
Weeds – thistles, thorns, etc..
Poor soils, lack of nutrients
Etc..

Today, we have no concept of what a perfect sin-free world upheld by God’s power is like, as only Adam and Eve, before they sinned, experienced. Ever since that critical moment in time, the earth and it’s systems have been running down and decaying.  “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us. For the anxious longing of the creation waits eagerly for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pain of childbirth together until now.”  Romans 8:18-22, NASB

All creation is decaying and suffering the effects of original sin. The root cause of every hurricane, earthquake, volcano, garden weed, and so forth, is caused by SIN.  Our world is NOT what God intended to create, and is being destroyed by the lasting and corrosive effects of sin. In actual fact, this earth, our world, is terminally ill and cannot be saved. During the soon-coming future judgment of mankind, our “beautiful world” will be utterly, completely, and absolutely destroyed by fire, and it is our fault. As in the days of Noah we have done wickedly in the eyes of God, and judgment upon us will not be restrained forever.

“They deliberately forget that God made the heavens by the word of his command, and he brought the earth out from the water and surrounded it with water. Then he used the water to destroy the ancient world with a mighty flood. And by the same word, the present heavens and earth have been stored up for fire. They re being kept for the day of judgment, when ungodly people will be destroyed. But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day. The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent. But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly as a thief. Then the heavens will pass away with a terrible noise, and the very elements themselves will disappear in fire, and the earth and everything on it will be found to deserve judgment.

Since everything around us is going to be destroyed like this, what holy and godly lives you should live, looking forward to the day of God, and hurrying it along. On that day, he will set the heavens on fire, and the elements will melt away in the flames. But we are looking forward to the new heavens and new earth he has promised, a world filled with God’s righteousness.”  2 Peter 3,5-13, NLT  – (Emphasis added)

No amount of recycling efforts can truly clean up our world, it is beyond saving and ultimately temporal and worthless. While the Earth cannot be saved from judgment, YOU can be! You have one and only ONE choice, to repent of your sins and confess the name of Jesus Christ, asking for His forgiveness. Unless you willingly and freely do this with your whole heart, you will end up being tormented in hell for eternity.

The sin of one man allowed death through the door

“So you see, just as death came into the world through a man…”  1 Corinthians 15:21, NLT

“When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam’s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned.”  Romans 5:12, NLT

“For if by one man’s offense death reigned by one;…”  Romans 5:17, KJV

Showing death the door

~ Sin came through Adam ~ Romans 5:18, NLT
“Yes, Adam’s one sin brings condemnation for everyone, but Christ’s one act of righteousness brings a right relationship with God and new lives for everyone.”

~ The reign of sin is over! ~ Romans 8:3, NLT
“God declared an end to sin’s control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins.”

~ Sting of death is no more! ~ 1 Corinthians 15:53-57, NLT
“For our dying bodies must be transformed into bodies that will never die; our mortal bodies must be transformed into immortal bodies. Then, when our dying bodies have been transformed into bodies that will never die, this Scripture will be fulfilled: Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is your victory. O death, where is your sting?” For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power. But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

 ~ Jesus takes away sin ~ John 1:29, KJV
“The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.”

~ Jesus bore our sins ~ 1 Peter 2:21-24, KJV
“For  even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously: Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness; by whose stripes ye were healed.”

There you have it, the sad story of how sin gained entrance into our world, and what is in store for us. My hands are clean and my conscience is clear, I have told you the truth. What you do with this knowledge is up to you, please make the right choice; come to the feet of JESUS CHRIST today!! May God bless you.

Dear Friend…

God loves YOU so much that He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to die upon the cross at Calvary for YOUR sins. The bible plainly states  all men have sinned, and without a Saviour, we are condemned to destruction and death. What will YOU do? Will respond the call of Jesus for YOU?

All have sinned
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.” Romans 3:23-24

Consequences of sin
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23

Fate of the wicked
“For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.” Malachi 4:1

Reward of the blessed
“And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads. And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.”
Revelation 22:1-5

God bless,

What is it all about?

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. At the centre of God’s creation, He formed Adam and Eve from the dust of the earth, and commanded they be fruitful and multiply upon the face of all the earth. Taking advantage of the free choice God gave them, Adam and Eve chose to disobey by eating of the forbidden tree. As a result of this seemingly innocent event, all mankind was condemned to suffer the cancerous effects and sin. So instead of living with God in a perfect environment, they were cast out of the Garden of Eden to fend for themselves. During the following centuries, a story unfolds of how the descendants of Adam and Eve grew into great and mighty nations and kingdoms. The many stories weaved like a thread through the bible are part of the redemptive story of God for mankind. Throughout scripture, we learn how God works with us to conform our hearts, minds and actions to His will, forgiving our transgressions and having mercy upon us. We are also clearly shown how God deals with sin, disobedience and all who chose to do evil.

Just as God gave Adam and Eve the free choice of whether or not to obey Him, so are each one of us given free choice as well. Each human being has the freedom to follow either God or Satan, one leading to eternal life and joy, the other to death and destruction. [Jesus is the only way] In John 14:6 we read, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me”. Clearly, it is not possible for man to come to the Father without Jesus Christ, His Son and our Saviour. The central theme in God’s plan of forgiveness and redemption, is for us to live with Him in a renewed and perfect earth.

[God giveth them light] Revelation 22:1-5 “And He showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielding her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. And there shall be no more curses: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads. And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.”

The bible says all men are sinners and wholly incapable of cleansing themselves of sin without a Saviour. [All have gone astray] Isaiah 53:6 “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.” [We are justified by grace] Romans 3:23-24 “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Jesus Christ.” [The wages of sin] Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”  The bible tells a story, our story, of our struggle with sin and how helpless we are before the Almighty God. How the story ends is personal to each one of us and how we respond to God’s word. If we choose to follow our own lusts, willingly living in the sins and evil of this world, then we are destined to the Lake of Fire. However, choosing to accept Jesus’ free offer of salvation, we may be granted eternal life and live with the Father and Son forever and ever. How will you choose?

Keep My words

My Son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee. Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye. Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.

Wake up world – Judgment is coming!!

I am the LORD your God, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, that ye should not be their bondmen; and I have broken the bands of your yoke, and made you go upright. But if ye will not hearken unto me, and will not do all these commandments; And if ye shall despise my statutes, or if your soul abhor my judgments, so that ye will not do my commandments, but that ye break my covenant: I also will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: and ye shall so your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.

Vanity of riches

There is a sore evil which I have seen under the sun, namely, riches kept for the owners thereof to their hurt. But those riches perish by evil travail: and he begetteth a son, and there is nothing in his hand. As he came forth of his mother’s womb, naked shall he return to go as he came, and shall take nothing of his labour, which he may carry away in his hand. And this also is a sore evil, that in all points as he came, so shall he go: and what profit hath he that hath laboured for the wind? All his days also he eateth in darkness, and he hath much sorrow and wrath with his sickness. Behold that which I have seen: it is good and comely for one to eat and to drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labour that he taketh under the sun all the days of his life, which God giveth him: for it is his portion. Every man also to whom God hath given riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labour; this is the gift of God.

Trust not your lying ways

Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Amend your ways and your doings, and I will cause you to dwell in this place. Trust ye not in lying words, saying, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD, are these. For if ye thoroughly amend your ways and your doings; if ye thoroughly execute judgment between a man and his neighbor; If ye oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place; neither walk after other gods to your hurt: Then will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, for ever and ever, Behold, ye trust in lying words, that cannot profit.

Jeremiah 7:3-8

Are you trusting fully in the LORD and the sacrifice of Jesus Christ? Are you heeding His words, His commandments and statutes? Are you growing in grace, knowledge and truth?   If not, then you are trusting in lying words.God will overlook our sins and transgressions if we are actively trusting in Him, repenting of our sins, and doing our best to live according to His word. Many of our leaders often use words such as, “And may God bless ___________.” Are they living by every word of God? No. Is the nation living according to the word of God? No. Then if you believe them, you personally are trusting in lying words. The Bible defines a liar as any person who does not  trust in Jesus and keep His commandments – 1 John 2:3-4. In whom are you trusting today?

A prayer to the LORD

Thank you LORD for the monies received this week from my labours. Blessings to all of your children wherever they are, because the call of your voice was heard and a response given. I love you LORD with all my heart and soul; your great love and mercy is all I need day by day. Your acceptance is what I seek through the precious blood of Jesus Christ. To be honest LORD, the sins and evil of this world are a fright unto me. Do not leave me O   LORD, for I cannot face this evil without you. O what an evil and wicked people we are; all have forsaken you and wandered astray. All have turned to their own sin, there is none that doeth right in your eyes. We are perishing off this Earth, but your children cling to the promise of hope, made possible through Jesus Christ. I cling to this promise my LORD, and shalt not let it go. Blessings be heaped upon you in infinite abundance; let your people praise your name day and night forever.

The wicked know not that they have made a covenant with death, and that destruction and misery lies before them. Our sins are multiplied, our strength is fading, but hope endures. We have hope in the name of Jesus, a name to be praised above all others, because He loved us so. How much shall be the cost O  LORD? How much suffering shall we endure? Very much, I fear, for our sins are great, our faith weak, and your just wrath unsatisfied. O  LORD, what a dark day it will be when the heavens fall, and the mountains are moved. Am I to live to see this day? Will you ask for my life? I will stand for thee, my LORD and KING; but my flesh fears greatly. Lend me your strength, sufficient that I may stand form and not faint due to fear. I care not for this world; I hate my sin and the evil all about. One day O  LORD, ye will once again renew the face of the earth, and all shall be made right. I pray you a good night my LORD, and thank you for this day from my heart.

I am the LORD, and there is none else

I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me: That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me, I am the LORD, and there is none else. I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things. Drop down, ye heavens, from above, and let the skies pour down righteousness: let the earth open, and let them bring forth salvation, and let righteousness spring up together; I the LORD have created it.

Isaiah 45:5-8
